QuantiSwab™

bioMérieux’s QuantiSwab™ is an irradiated, triple-wrapped environmental swab utilizing nylon-flocked technology. This patented technology offers the QuantiSwab a unique design allowing up to 60% recovery of microorganisms from surfaces compared to a recovery rate of 20% for traditional swabs. The QuantiSwab has also demonstrated a 90% release capacity of microorganisms captured by the swab.

The patented flocking technology projects nylon microfibers onto the shaft of the swab, allowing exceptional hydraulic capillary actions, whereas the design of traditional swabs creates a matrix-like environment in which microorgansisms can become trapped, thus making them difficult to release.

The QuantiSwab is easy to use and specifically designed for critical controlled environements to get a quantitiative indication of environmental surface contamination.

Cleanroom Bottles

bioMérieux has developed a unique packaging, for high performance ready-to-use Tryptic Soy Broth and Fluid Thioglycollate media, that is specifically designed for use in isolators or clean rooms. The bottled media are packaged in specific plastic boxes, double-wrapped and subjected to sterilization with ethylene oxide in their final packaging to offer ideal sterility assurance. This new format delivers greater quality and dependability while eliminating the need to clean the bottled prior to use.

Surface Monitoring Suggested Procedure

  • Hold the FIX SYSTEM contact plate as you normally would.
  • Gently squeeze the base of the plate as you remove the lid with the other hand.

chromID™ Salmonella

chromID™ Salmonella agar is a selective isolation and differentiation medium for the Salmonella in food products.

  • Selectivity - three chromogenic substrates optimize the selective isolation and differentiation of Salmonella, including serotypes Typhi, Paratyphi and most lactose-positive Salmonella
  • Nutrient Capacity – the rigorous selection of raw materials allows the growth of large Salmonella colonies with intense coloration after only 18 to 24 hours incubation at 37ºC
  • Selectivity – the mixture of selective agents ensures excellent inhibition of additional food flora: Gram-positive cocci, yeasts and the majority of non-fermenting Gram-negative bacteria

chromID™ O157:H7

chromID™ O157:H7 is an innovative chromogenic medium enabling easy differentiation between the O157:H7 serotype and other microorganisms

  • Identification of E. coli O157:H7 after only 18 to 24 hours of incubation at 37ºC
  • Characteristic green to blue-green colored colonies
  • More fertile than SMAC medium and equally selective
  • Inhibition of Gram-positive bacteria and yeasts
  • For highly contaminated samples, the selectivity can be increase with the addition of a Cefixime Tellurite mixture

chromID™ Sakazakii

chromID™ Sakazakii is a selective chromogenic medium for the isolation and presumptive identification of E. sakazakii from food and environmental sources. The formula is based on the R&F®Enterobacter sakazakii chromogenic plating medium (ESPM) described by L. Restaino et al.

Innovative and highly sensitive formula:

  • Two chromogenic substrates to detect two specific E. sakazakii enzyme activities
  • Antibiotics to inhibit the growth of most Gram-positive strains and yeasts as well as some Gram-negative species

Easy to Read:

  • Typical blue-grey to blue-black colonies appear after 24 hours of incubation
  • Characteristic appearance of colonies is maintained for up to 48 hours

chromID™ Vibrio

chromID™ Vibrio is a selective chromogenic medium for the isolation of most Vibrio species. It particularly enables the presumptive identification of V. cholerae and V. parahaemolyticus. It is intended for the analysis of products for human consumption and the feeding of animals, and the monitoring of environmental samples in the area of food production and food handling.

chromID Vibrio contains a mixture of peptones and sugars enabling the growth of most Vibrio species. It also includes a specific chromogenic substrate that detects distinct enzyme activities, enabling the presumptive identification of V. cholerae and V. parahaemolyticus through the production of characteristic colored colonies.
