July 12, 2001—For nearly 40 years, bioMérieux has
been a leader in biological diagnostics bringing innovative
and high-performance solutions to today's healthcare marketplace.
In an effort to better serve you and expand our product offerings,
bioMérieux has been fortunate to acquire the diagnostics
division of Organon Teknika from Akzo Nobel.
The acquisition, effective June 29, 2001, combines the strength
of the two organizations-increasing innovation and expanding
complementary product offerings. As a result, bioMérieux
will offer clients a comprehensive diagnostic testing menu including
clinical and industrial microbiology, coagulation, immunoassay
testing and molecular diagnostics.
The combined company will operate under the name bioMérieux.
North American headquarters will be in Durham, North Carolina-becoming
part of the well-known Research Triangle. Manufacturing operations
will not be affected.
Throughout the integration, there's one thing you can be sure
of-our focus is on you. Our goal during this time of integration
and moving forward is to provide you with the highest level
of product quality and service. The same individuals you work
with today will be available to answer your questions, assist
with purchases and respond to your service needs.
