The DiversiLab System automates the previously cumbersome method of strain typing and allows for better genotypic characterization of bacteria, yeast and molds. This helps users identify the source of outbreaks and helps stop the spread of further infection or contamination throughout your institution. The system can be used to uncover hidden reservoirs of resistance.
The system provides the next generation in infection control and contamination source tracking by allowing healthcare practitioners and quality control/assurance departments to conduct investigations up to ten times faster than with previous methods.
The system is comprised of 30 Genus-specific Fingerprinting kits, the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer which utilizes the lab-on-a-chip device® from Caliper Inc and sophisticated software for analysis and reporting of the fingerprint patterns.
