Allison R. McMullen, PhD, D(BMM)

Dr. Allison McMullen received her bachelor’s degree from Tulane University. She received her doctoral degree studying the Molecular Epidemiology of West Nile virus from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Chronic Viral Diseases Branch at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr. McMullen completed a second postdoctoral fellowship in Medical and Public Health Microbiology at Washington University in St. Louis in 2016. She joined the faculty at Augusta University in July 2016 and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Microbiology. Dr. McMullen’s research interests are focused primarily on antimicrobial susceptibility testing and resistance and new technology for clinical microbiology.

Beth Landry is a dedicated microbiologist that works as the Microbiology Supervisor at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, Louisiana. She plays an integral role on the Touro Infirmary Antimicrobial Stewardship committee. Her laboratory has implemented the VITEK® MALDI-TOF analyzer to aid in providing rapid identifications to the pharmacy. Through workflow improvements, her laboratory has helped reduce costs for both the laboratory and hospital, not to mention increasing the level of care through rapid microbiology reporting.
